Student video and audio blogs

We would now like to hear more about your personal experiences of the school closures and the impact to your well-being. To do this we would like to invite you to record a vlog (video) (up to 5 mins long) that tells us about your experiences of the school closures and your mental well-being.

How to make you video or audio blog

In your video blog you can simply tell us about your experiences of the school closures and your well-being in your own words, or if you get stuck about what to say, please answer one or more of the following questions in your video.  If you would prefer not to video record your comments, you can record an audio file instead.

  1. How did you feel when you realised that schools were closing again?
  2. How do you feel about your mental well-being at this time?
  3. Do you have any concerns about this academic year? Please explain your response.
  4. Do you feel isolated?
  5. Do you currently feel supported with your mental well-being by your school?

a) If you answered no to the previous question, is there anything that could be done to help you improve your mental well-being?

b) If you answered yes to the previous question, is there anything that has helped you to achieve this goal?

Also, please could you tell us  your ethnicity but, do not offer any other identifying details such as, your name, address, age etc.

When completing your vlog (video blog) please do the following:

  • Record your vlog on any video recording device (phone, laptop etc) for a maximum of 5mins
  • Please do not offer any identifying details- you don’t need to provide your name. If you wish to tell us which year group you are in please feel free to do so.
  • Try to talk straight to the camera about your personal experience
  • Make sure you are the only person in the video/or can be heard in the audio
  • Record in a quiet and light place, where we can see you and hear you.
  • Hold your camera landscape (so the shot is longer than it is high)
  • Try not to add any or include copyrighted material (e.g., music, graphics).
  • Once you have recorded your video or audio upload it using the file uploader at the bottom of the page.

If you have any further comments you would like to make about your mental wellbeing during this period please feel to comment in your vlog.
